
Khalid Soofi
Dr. Khalid Soofi brings with him a rich and varied engineering experience starting his career with ConocoPhillips as a Research Engineer and moved up the ranks of Sr. Research Fellow before moving to ChampionX.
During his career Khalid has worked on a diverse range of projects such as Radar Altimeter to derive Global Free Air Gravity Anomalies, Global Bathymetry, using satellite imagery (Optical, Radar and Hyperspectral) for lithologic mapping and environmental baselines, pipeline routing, oil spill monitoring using SAR imagery, detecting natural slicks to find new hydrocarbon reservoirs, automatic monitoring of hazardous ice movements in Arctic, using autonomous marine drones for oil exploration, etc. For the last 10 years with ConocoPhillips, Khalid was the lead scientist for many of the GHG monitoring, detection, and quantification technologies, including Satellite Constellations, Airplanes using, in-situ, active and passive remote sensing, Drones and Ground-based systems.
Prior to ConocoPhillips, Dr. Soofi worked on several U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy projects during his tenure as Project Engineer for Center for Research, Inc, at the University of Kansas.
Dr. Soofi has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas.
